Primary Responsibility:

Manages the bank’s insurance and risk financing programs that include identifying and quantifying loss exposures and securing commercial insurance. Incumbent is responsible for analyzing bank insurance needs and securing optimum insurance coverage including all forms of property insurance (liability, flood, fire, theft, etc.), worker’s compensation, executive risk and other insurance necessary for the protection of bank assets. Administers and maintains the bank’s corporate insurance programs.
Requirements:

* College degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent training and work experience. Prefer education beyond college or completion of insurance course work.
* Must have knowledge of Property, Flood and Contingent insurance coverage.
* Seven years of experience in Insurance, Underwriting, or Risk Management, to include the following:
- Experience working with all facets of insurance operations including internal company risk assessment, contract negotiations, underwriting, claims and legal actions.
- Experience working in a corporation with multi-state operations.
- Three years of supervisory or management experience.
* Prior banking experience preferred but not required.
* Advanced understanding of insurance contracts and indemnities including contract negotiations, wording and claims.
* Understanding of regulatory guidelines affecting the insurance and banking industry.
* Understanding of banking operations and risk management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent negotiation skills.
* Ability to develop and sustain positive, cooperative working relationships with a broad range of internal and external customers.
* Ability to lead, direct and motivate staff.
* Working knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and industry-specific software.
