Money Market Deposit Accounts (MMDAs) and Savings Accounts are subject to federal banking regulations requiring financial institutions to restrict the number of withdrawals and transfers that can be made during a monthly statement period. We limit the number of checks and debits you can have in a monthly statement period as explained below, but there is no limit on the number of credits and deposits.
1. We allow an UNLIMITED NUMBER of cash withdrawals or transfers to your other Whitney accounts when made in person at ATMs, or at our teller windows by using the special withdrawal slips provided for this purpose.
2. In addition, we allow you to make no more than SIX transfers per monthly statement period to your other Whitney accounts by means of an automatic transfer, telephonic (including data transmission) agreement, or similar order, or order of instruction made via the Internet or by telephone - including the use of our Whitney Information Line.
3. Included in the SIX transfer limit, you can have any combination of transfers, but only THREE of the SIX transfers can be payable to anyone including yourself, whether made by check, paper draft, debit card used at Point-of-Sale terminals, or via Automated Clearing House (ACH) debits.
4. Transfers initiated via the Internet, or by telephone with instructions to pay third parties are also limited to THREE per monthly statement period and included in the SIX transfer limit.
5. We do not allow checks or paper drafts to post against Savings Accounts.
If you exceed these limits, we will notify you by mail that we may change the account to one with no withdrawal limits, or to one that is non-interest bearing, or we may close the account.
When activity for a monthly statement period of an MMDA exceeds any of the described limits, an excessive withdrawal fee of $15.00 per withdrawal or transfer will apply. Fees for withdrawals from Savings Accounts may also apply when certain balance conditions are not met. Please refer to our current fee schedules.
